Nacho Ormaechea is a multifaceted artist. His works explore human consciousness and its responses to the surroundings using day-to-day experiences as starting points.
His projects can be seen as conceptual mirrors in which fiction and reality intertwine, shifts make sense, where time and memory always play a key role, forcing the viewers to get involved and see the reflection of their own realities. People, appearance and attitudes are central notions in his creative process.
Nacho graduated in Fine Arts in Bilbao, Spain and studied Photography at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology. He was also trained at The Parsons School and L’École Estienne in Paris, France, where he took up residency. He has been living and working in the “City of Lights” for more than a decade now.
His projects have been featured in medias such as My Modern Met, Libération-Next, La Repubblica, artistaday.com and Frame Magazine.
